How to get it:
1. cd /usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins
2. sudo ln -s ../../mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so
flashplugin.so
3. ..that's it, restart browser and visit about:plugins and then
youtube.com
I'm using the 3.0.194 build and Youtube works a treat. There are obviously still things to be ironed out , but this is a great step forward.

It doesn't work for me -- it says I have the wrong ELF class:
[16629:16632:190293919360:ERROR:/build/buildd/chromium-browser-3.0.194.0~svn20090713r20481/build-tree/src/base/native_library_linux.cc(19)] dlopen failed when trying to open /usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins/flashplugin.so: /usr/lib/chromium-browser/plugins/flashplugin.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
I suspect this is because I just started running a 64-bin OS. I was surprised that flash (in firefox) worked with no fiddling, so I'm afraid to fiddle with it now.
Yes, that error message looks like it could be a 64bit issue.
I'm currently running the 3.0.195 version, and it works fine on i386 Ubuntu Jaunty. They have also fixed a bit of cpu hog issue that was in the last build.
This 32/64 bit issue has been around too long, and Adobe need to get their act together.
Thanks for the post. That is good news on the progress Chromium is making. I'm going to try it out on Jaunty 64bit. I'll probably get the same results as Laura, but I'll let you know.
Yes, the news on the development on Chromium is getting better, as Google are now throwing their weight behind the project as it will be this project that will deliver a major part of their Google OS. The latest build is the most stable yet and showing good signs of moving toward becoming of beta quality.
